Boston Dog Rescue is an all-breed, all-volunteer dog rescue group devoted to helping homeless dogs find loving homes. We are a small organization and we operate this rescue in our free time aside from full-time jobs. Our dogs reside in foster homes throughout Greater Boston as we feel this offers a better environment for them and provides an easier transition into an adoptive home. Our goal is to find only the best homes for the dogs in our care.

Our main concentration is on saving dogs from pounds and shelters - overcrowded conditions forces early euthanasia for many young dogs and puppies. Our goal is to save lives while providing a good resource of dogs to people who might have otherwise unknowingly supported a puppy mill by buying a dog from a pet store or breeder.

The adoption fee of $200 includes all vaccinations, spay/neuter and treatment for any medical condition, such as heartworm (the dog will receive appropriate treatment and be given a clean bill of health prior to being adopted out).

We have a thorough screening process and require an initial phone interview, two personal references, a vet reference, and a homevisit. Applications can be found on our website and all adopters will be asked to sign an adoption contract. We strive to match our dogs with the "right" home. We have a solid return policy so that any dog adopted through our organization will not end up in a shelter again.
